Wildland Fire Canada 2016 Abstract submissions will be accepted until June 30th
The Wildland Fire Canada 2016 conference opening is officially less than 4 months away. As the summer fire season begins to heat up, some of you may already be thinking ahead towards autumn. We hope you already have your calendar booked for the premier wildfire event in Canada, Wildland Fire Canada 2016: Building Resilience.
Aspiring presenters for oral or poster presentations have just a few days left to get their submissions in. To submit an abstract for a proposed presentation, go to the WFC2016 abstracts page and fill in the form as indicated. To help prepare your abstract topic, please check the WFC2016 Program pages for details around the conference themes and events.
Depending on the topic, there may still be room for a few special sessions. If you wish to propose a special session, please indicate this in the text of your abstract (and make sure all presentations in your special session do the same).
This is a good time for us to also mention that nominations are also currently being accepted for the prestigious J.G. Wright and H.W. Beall Awards. These career-achievement awards are awarded during the WFC2016 Banquet presentation. Briefly, the Wright Award recognizes excellence in wildfire research, while the Beall Award recognizes excellence in adopting research findings into wildfire operations (more complete descriptions are on the website: Wright and Beall Award nominations). Please consider submitting nominations for your most esteemed and deserving colleagues.
